As patriotism is a cornerstone of the NSDAR, the Catherine Thybo Chapter NSDAR has embraced and supported many efforts to honor those who serve.  We take time at every other meeting to share our own Revolutionary patriots' stories.  We will use this information to create a booklet to share with others interested in Revolutionary War patriots.

We participate in the Christmas laying of wreaths, the 4th of July American flags at the Black Hills National Cemetery, participation in Memorial Day programs, and the 4th of July parades.

Several of our members volunteer at Fort Meade Veterans Hospital and we have donated Christmas cards and personal hygiene products for the patients.  For two years, members have attended the recognition program of Vietnam veterans at the Black Hills National Cemetery.  Last fall, many of our members attended the memorial placed at the Tri-State Museum in Belle Fourche honoring our Vietnam veterans.

Our current activities include making lap robes for veterans and identification of Fort Meade soldiers buried at the Whitewood Cemetery.
